Hearts and DAISY's are Complimentary

"You're competition for The DAISY Foundation," a nurse administrator remarked upon discovering the HeartMyCare mobile app at the Caremiga exhibit booth.

It's not true, but it is a backdoor compliment in a way. The DAISY Foundation is a well-respected organization that inspires and rewards nurses—undoubtedly, not a bad act to follow. However, competition we are not.

Out of reverence for The DAISY Foundation and acknowledging our new, largely unknown status, I want to set the record straight. 💗

🤝 We are complimentary but not competition. Any friend of nursing is a friend of ours. Despite some similarities, we each bring unique value to the nursing profession.

🌼 DAISY was inspired and founded by patients and is nurse-led. Caremiga was also inspired by patients but founded and led by a nurse passionate about the profession.

💼 DAISY is a nonprofit organization, supported through a combination of individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and DAISY Award program sponsorships. Caremiga is a self-funded business offering a complimentary service to nurses and patients.

🤲 DAISY partners with healthcare organizations such as hospital systems and higher education institutions. Through HeartMyCare, Caremiga partners with individual nurses and patients.

🏆 DAISY offers awards to honor nurses who provide exceptional care and kindness to their patients and families. HeartMyCare rewards nurses with immediate feedback from patients.

💫 DAISY inspires many and awards good care to a few chosen nurses. HeartMyCare inspires many and promotes good care to any nurse in direct care.

📲 DAISY Award nominations can be made by patients, families, and co-workers electronically on The DAISY Foundation website or by nomination cards in participating organizations. HeartMyCare offers instant and direct feedback to nurses from patients on a mobile application.

🏅 DAISY Awards do not have a limit on the number of awards given but are determined by the participating organization based on the facility's size, the number of nurses, and the nominations received. HeartMyCare has no limit on the number of nurses or patients who contribute.

🌎 The DAISY Foundation is international but has partnered with over 3,400 healthcare organizations in the US. HeartMyCare will be available only in the US (for now) starting December 2023.

🚀 HeartMyCare, launching in December, can help a nurse to be more DAISY-eligible. While awards aren't offered, rewards are in the future as an app feature.

While both HeartMyCare and The DAISY Foundation contribute to the nursing profession in unique ways, we are excited about the positive impact HeartMyCare can make for nurses and patients alike. Here's to a future of inspiring and recognizing exceptional care!
